Reflection on Alma 37:6

“Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.” (Alma 37:6)

Prepare your heart to receive the Spirit’s guidance as you ponder the power of small and simple actions.

Slowly read this verse, focusing on the phrase “small and simple things.” Reflect on the truth that the Lord often works through humble means to accomplish His purposes.

Consider the small and simple actions in your own life—prayer, scripture study, acts of kindness—and how they have strengthened your relationship with Heavenly Father or impacted others. Reflect on how consistency in these actions builds a foundation for spiritual growth.

Ask Heavenly Father for the humility to recognise the importance of small, righteous decisions in your life. Seek inspiration to remain faithful in your daily efforts, even when they seem insignificant.

Identify one small but meaningful action you can take today to strengthen your faith or bless someone else. It might be expressing gratitude, bearing testimony, or quietly helping a family member or friend.

Let this verse remind you throughout the day that greatness in God’s kingdom often begins with small, faithful acts.
